U.S. SENATOR CREATES AWARD FOR RIDERS
U.S. Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, a Harley-Davidson owner, has created the Senator Campbell Freedom Flag Award, which will recognize motorcyclists who demonstrate outstanding involvement in community service. Recipients will receive an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol. Oliver Shokouh, of Glendale HarleyDavidson in Glendale, California, is the first to receive the award. Shokouh founded the Love Ride, which has become the nation’s largest single-day fund-raiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
“Bikers come from all walks of life,” Campbell said. “They’re not all just looking for a fun motorcycle ride, and hopefully this award will demonstrate that bikers are also caring people who become involved in their communities.”
