HIGH-FIBER BUSA!
When it debuted in 1999, Suzuki’s GSX1300R Hayabusa put a face to the phrase “Sick Excess.” For racing roofer Rad Greaves, however, sick excess is not enough. Which is why the so-called RadBusa exists. Inspired by Greaves’ own “GP Busa III” AMA Formula Xtreme racer (see “Winged Devil,” CW, August), this modified monster is a product of his new company, Rad’s Radical Rides (www.teamhayabusa.com). Start with a stock Hayabusa, add carbon-fiber aero bodywork, an Öhlins Superbike fork and Yoshimura adjustable triple-clamps...the list goes on. The engine is stock internally, but receives a boost from the Bazzaz Performance Design MoTec engine-management system (with a multi-function LCD display replacing the stock gauges). A rearview camera and voice-activated GPS add more tech sizzle. If you want to spend some extra cash, tick the box next to the 200-horsepower engine option, which is recommended for racing it, though, because
the bank is already going to ask why you’re buying a $50,000 motorcycle. Because it’s cool, you say. Mark Hoyer
