Rim Rock Racing Billet Triple-Clamps

Husky clamps for Husqvarnas
WHETHER OUT OF NECESSITY OR vanity, billet-aluminum tripleclamps have become quite fashionable in the off-road scene. In addition to providing that “works” look, they can reposition the stock handlebar mounts for improved rider comfort.
While we admit we’re as style-conscious as the next Gen-MXers, our need for aftermarket clamps actually arose while converting an early-model Husqvarna 610 to SuperTT trim. The fork legs had to be spaced 12mm farther apart to allow clearance for a wider roadrace wheel and tire.
We contacted Husqvarna specialists Rim Rock Racing, and commissioned a set of custom-width billet clamps. A small mom-and-pop operation, the shop was happy to fill our one-off special order. RRR originally developed the clamps because its sponsored desert racer broke his Stockers. Like the shop’s standard 185mm Husky clamps, our 197mm units were CNCmachined from 6061 T6 aluminum, and treated to a fashionable gold-anodized finish.
At 1.5 inches in height, the top clamp is slightly taller than stock and has increased wall thickness for strength. The ultra-stout lower clamp is 1.75 inches tall, has 20 percent greater wall thickness and utilizes three 8mm grade-8 socket-head cap screws to secure each leg (as opposed to the stock units’ two screws per leg).

Downs
Heavier than stock clamps Works look leaves fewer excuses for poor finishes
The RRR clamps turned out to be everything we hoped for. We put them to the test in a local SuperTT race and they came through with flying colors. We even took top honors in the Premier-class sprint-looking quite chic all the while. □
