Love for lids

ERE'S HOPE FOR STINKY HELMETS and faceshields so smeared you feel as though you’re riding in a haze. Swiss lube-maker Motorex says its foaming Helmet Care “deodorizes, freshens up colors and is gentle to surfaces.” Its Viso-Clean wipes, meanwhile, “quickly and effectively remove dust, insects, oil residues and soot.” Turns out the stuff works, and it’s easy

to use. Helmet Care first: Give the can a couple of shakes, spray on a layer of the hair-mousse-like foam, and wipe with a clean, dry rag. Follow the same procedure for the helmet’s interior. One note of caution: Aim accurately. Otherwise, the foam ends up everywhere. And we mean everywhere! Does the Helmet Care actually deodorize, or just mask smells? Tough to say, but no one complained about the lingering, lemony scent. And it dries pretty quickly, too.

Even handier, as far as side-ofthe-road spruce-ups go, is the Viso-Clean. Two or three of these condom-size packages fit in a jacket or tankbag pocket. About the same size as a handi-wipe, the separately wrapped 6 x 8-inch sheetsone wet, one dry-remove bug remnants, dill and water spots from most faceshields without scratching. Just don’t let the alcohol-laced cleaner dry; you’ll end

up with a difficult-to-bufif residue.

Quick and effective, just like it says on the package. n
