AUSSIE ALTERATIONS IGNITE THE IMOLA

ROUNDUP

BROOK HENRY, THE MAN behind Vee Two, an Australian company that makes high-performance Ducati parts and complete bikes, has come up with another winner, a Ducati Imola replica.

Henry, creator of the Alchemy, (see Roundup, Cycle World, February, 1991) didn’t copy the Imola. He made a bike much better than the original. To that end, he built a Reynolds 531 steel frame, completely reworked the engine using Vee Two parts, fitted his own clutch and gearbox, and installed Öhlins shocks and a Marzocchi fork. All that work did wonders for the bike. The original Imola topped out at about 110 mph, according to Henry. His version has been clocked at 155 mph.

Alan Cathcart, CW's European Editor, recently raced Henry’s Imola in Bathurst, Australia. He won both legs of the post-classic race and said the bike-not the rider-deserved all the credit.
