NEW ATKs UNVEILE
NINE MONTHS AFTER BUYing the company, ATK's new owners have unveiled the 1994 line-up, which includes two street legal models.
The Dual Sports, in 350 and 605cc versions, will be available in electricor kick-start versions. The 350 will retail
for $6595, and the 605 is priced at $6995. Electric start costs another $800. Street-legal hardware is minimal, and the bikes are otherwise the same as the off-road mounts.
Countershaft-mounted rear disc brakes and A-TraK chaintorque eliminators, features in troduced by the company's previous owners, have been done away with. ATK says those changes make it possible to use longer swingarms and shocks, and improved Nissin brake components. ATKs now
carry more American-made parts, including machined bil let hubs, Answer Pro-Taper bars and an IMS fuel tanks. Updates have been instituted across the ATK line. Returning bikes include the 250 and 406cc Cross Country twostroke models, priced at $4695 and $4795, plus 350 and 604cc four-stroke Cross Country ver sions, priced at $5895 and $6395. Electric start is avail able on both Thumpers, adding $700 to the 350 and $900 to the 605.
ATK's new assembly line in Bountiful, Utah, is up and run ning, and the company expects to produce approximately 1200
1994 machines.
