V-TWIN FOR VICTORY
TAKE ONE HARLEY-DAVIDson V-Twin engine, mix with one custom frame based on the famed Norton Featherbed, sprinkle with ancillary parts and systems, and what you get is the Victory, a replica of the Harley-powered machine with which roadracer Lance Weil won 45 roadraces in Britain in the late 1960s.
Weil plans to build 25 copies of the Victory, each powered by a suitably vintage, iron-barrelied 883cc Sportster engine. The basic Victory will be offered as a roadracer, with streetable electronics optionally available for those owners who wish to ride their bikes on the street.
Asking price is $33,800, and for that buyers will get a bike equipped with an alloy tank and rims, a small fairing and a front disc brake.
If you’ve just got to have one, contact Lance Weil Productions at 811 N. Western Ave., Hollywood CA 90029; 213/461-8238.
