2012 Victory High Ball
Victory takes on cruiserking Harley-Davidson with a new bobber
IT as WAS A “DARK” DAY IN NEW YORK as Victory Motorcycles unveiled its new 2012 High Ball, a bobbed and blacked-out cruiser shown for the first time in public just prior to the Progressive Insurance International Motorcycle Show in the Big Apple.
Mechanical bits are the usual Victory stuff: A 43mm conventional fork works with a single, springpreload-adjustable shock. Dry weight is 659 pounds. Seat height is just 25.0 inches. Rake is 31.7 degrees and trail is 6.7 inches, working with a wheelbase of 64.8 inches.
The hot-rod visuals are assisted by 16-inch Dunlop Cruisemax widewhitewall tires on 3.5-inch wide, wirespoke wheels. Two-position-adjustable, Roland Sands-inspired ape-hanger bars were designed to comply with a wide variety of state laws.
Power comes from the excellent Freedom 106 50-degree V-Twin engine with six-speed overdrive transmission and belt final drive.
Expected in dealers this March, the $13,499 Victory High Ball is available in one color: Solid Black, appropriately.
