T-Bags Magnetic Tankbag

CW EVALUATIONS

Top-notch tank-top tote

T-BAGS, THE COMPANY THAT MAKES those clever sissybar duffels for cruisers, is branching out, and if its first tankbag is any indication, meet the newest power player in the soft-luggage sweepstakes.

This is quality kit, with stitching and hardware a cut above the norm-even the logos and zipper tabs exude class. The 8.5 x 12.5 x 8.5-inch nylon bag adheres to metal fuel tanks via 10 magnets in its base and another six in the side flaps, with a neoprene bottom protecting paint from scratches. A safety lanyard is included, stored in the front pocket, but the T-Bag stuck so well we only broke it out in strong sidewinds.

Unlike some tankbags, this one holds its shape well even when empty. The padded side pouches were handy for smaller items such as sunglasses and paperwork, and we really liked the snap-off clear map pocket, easy to detach and take inside for coffee-shop navigation sessions.

Our only real gripe-and it’s a minor

one-is that a mesh pocket on the under side of the bag's top flap is situated so that its opening is upside-down when the bag is transported via its carrying handle, allowing items to slide out into the main compartment. A zipper, velcro or elastic hem would fix this nit-pick.

Otherwise, not a thing to complain about. It’s clear that T-Bags has done its homework really well on this one.
