MOTO-STREET SUZUKI

Check your driver's license at the dealership door: Suzuki is releasing the DR-Z400SM streetbike! Supermoto racing has had a big impact on two-wheeled sport in the U.S. over the last several years, and Suzuki is looking to capitalize on the growing popularity with this DR-Z400S dual-purpose-based bike.

Naturally, the biggest change from its dirty brother are the black-painted, 7-inch supermoto-style aluminum wheels with radial tires in place of the 18/21-inch DOT knobbies. While there is no final word on tire size or brand, expect a 120/70 front and 160/60 rear.

Front suspension gets a major upgrade in It form of an inverted fork similar to that of the RM250. Information about the 295-pound • SM was extremely limited, but the front brake looks to be upsized, while the fenders appear more RM-like than what is fitted to the dual-purpose version. The 398cc dohc five-speed Single is unchanged. Available colors will be yellow or black at an MSRP of $6099. No charge for points on your driving record...
