ULTIMATE SNOW AND WATERCRAFT POLISH

Luster that passes muster

LET’S FACE IT, PROPERLY MAINTAINING a motorcycle’s appearance is time-consuming. All that washing, waxing and polishing, only to be repeated again the following week—frankly, it can be a real pain in the patootie.

Fortunately, the folks at JJP Enterprises (P.O. Box 4017, Mission Viejo, CA 92690; 714/348-0968) are trying to refine this process somewhat. Headed up by Armor All inventor Joe Palcher, the company has introduced a line of care products that cater to, but are not limited to, snowmobiles and personal watercraft.

Because Ultimate Snow and Watercraft Polish is JJP’s premiere effort, we’ll cut the company some slack for leaving bikes off the label. Designed to clean, polish and shine, the creamy, mildsmelling liquid works on plastic, paint, plexiglass, fiberglass, chrome and aluminum. With that in mind, we tried it on windscreens, fairings, gas tanks, tripletrees and even custom-painted helmets.

The result? Thumbs-up all around. Ultimate Polish removed annoyances such as water spots and dead bugs, and left a silky-smooth sheen that beaded up when confronted with water. And, according to the manufacturer, when washed regularly, most motorcycles won’t require another coat of Ultimate Polish for three to five months.

Furthermore, the polish is easy to use and can be applied in direct sunlight. Most successful when road grime and mud chunks have been removed, the product needs only to be shaken and poured onto a clean cloth. Then, rub in the non-abrasive liquid, allow three to five minutes for drying, wipe off and buff.

All this good stuff, and the environmentally friendly concoction is inexpensive, too. To wit, a 16-ounce bottle costs just $9.95, and will spiff up approximately six motorcycles.

Granted, Ultimate Polish isn’t going to completely eliminate the need for cosmetic motorcycle maintenance. Regularly washing your motorcycle is still necessary. But with JJP’s Ultimate Polish, regular waxing and polishing aren’t. If ever there were an ultimate polish, this just might be it.
