BLUES MISSILE STRIKES
WHAT DO YOU GET when you completely cover a Fat Boy in denim? No, not a good excuse for industrial-strength talcum powder. What you get, in this case, at least, is a unique promotional tool. To hawk its new Biker Blues line of jeans,
Harley-Davidson gave in-house customizer Wyatt Fuller a new FLSTF and a green light to create something special. When real denim fabric proved unworkable as a covering, Fuller commissioned Arizona artist Dawne Holmes to paint on denim-replica graphics. Some 320 painstaking hours later (that’s two solid months of 40hour work weeks), the Blues Missile’s denim deception was complete. Holmes’ level of detailing is incredible, right down to seams, stitching, zippers and rivets. The bike is on the show circuit until year’s end.
