HALO HELMET BAND

Nighttime insurance

MOTORCYCLES AND THE PEOPLE RIDING them can be very difficult to see, especially at night. This problem has been addressed by Mulholland Development Company (2136 California Street, Suite 10, San Francisco, CA 94115; 415/563-9143) with the new Halo reflective helmet band. Made of stretch-neoprene rubber and faced with 3M reflective tape, the Halo is designed to fit around the base of any full-face helmet, regardless of shell design or size.

We installed the Halo on a variety of full-face helmets with no problems, though applying the band to helmets with sharply angled chinbars requires a bit of patience. Once in place, the band remains firmly affixed and doesn't flap in the wind. Because no glue or tape is required for installa tion, the Halo can easily be trans ferred from one helmet to another. - .~ 1~_~_~__ 1__

As far as its reflective qualities, the Halo works as intended. Car head lights pick up the band from at least 150 yards away. Available directly from the manufacturer in silver, yel low or orange colors for $11.95 plus $2 postage, the Halo is an effective, inexpensive method of increasing night visibility.
