Drag-Racing School Hits The Road
FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, Dale Walker has conducted his Hole Shot Performance drag-racing school at the Bayland’s dragstrip in Fremont, California. But on November 25, 1988,
Baylands became one more victim to urban and commercial expansion, and was closed to the public. But rather than looking for another venue, Walker has decided to follow the example of Keith Code’s traveling California Superbike School, and take his school to the riders.
Throughout the 1989 racing season, Walker, 1985 Dragbike! Top Fuel Champion, will be at nine Dragbike! USA events. Students will use their own motorcycles, with Walker giving tips on everything from the burnouts to “cutting a good light” to speed-shifting.
Given Walker’s low-key, but thorough, teaching style, this $325 class may be the most efficient way for riders to lower their ETs and raise their terminal speeds. For more details, dates and locations call: (408) 427-3625.
