Yamaha announces the development and availability of a new engine oil, Yamalube R, designed primarily for high-performance two-cycle racing engines. Formulated for use in competitive events, Yamalube R has been fieldtested under racing conditions for more than a year. It is the official two-cycle lubricant of the Yamaha National Racing Teams. It was also selected by Don Vesco as his primary lubricant when he broke the 300-mph barrier on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Yamalube R is said to provide exceptional engine cleanliness, virtually eliminate lubricant-related spark plug failure, reduce friction on critical surfaces, and mix readily with gasoline.
Although Yamalube R was designed for high-performance racing engines, it may be used in any two-cycle engine. It can be pre-mixed with gasoline in ratios of 20/1 to 50/1. For optimum results when pre-mixing, it is best to follow engine manufacturer’s recommendations.
Available in one-pint resealable plastic bottles, Yamalube R may be added to petroleum and most synthetic oils already in the oil tank. It is not, however, recommended for use in gearboxes. Obtainable only from authorized Yamaha motorcycle dealers.
