More protection than meets the eye

There are those who have worn knee braces and those who have not, and there are those who swear by them and those who criticize their use. I am clearly amongst the first group and have been wearing various brands of knee braces for 15 years. With multiple companies making high-quality motocross-/off-road-specific braces these days, finding well-made, protective units isn’t that difficult. But where different braces can be separated into two categories is in regard to fit and comfort.
Riders who have worn knee braces over the years have likely experienced some form of discomfort from illfitting or poorly designed braces. Bad fit can cause pinching and can also force the wearer to overtighten them to keep them from moving around. In the case of the Web Pro, I’ve been very happy with their comfort.
The Sharkskin neoprene liner and modular strap system keep them in place with very few readjustments necessary and virtually no chafing or pinching throughout the course of a riding day.
Constructed with twinwall carbon-fiber frames and EVS’s Tru-motion 3.0 anatomically correct dual-alloy hinges (with hyperextension lockouts), the Web Pro is extremely strong and rigid. As a matter of fact, I put them to the test in a manner in which they were never intended to survive: namely a head-on, knee-on-bumper collision with a Toyota Tundra while dual-sporting. The result was a broken leg that was repairable. Judging by the damage to the Web Pro’s c-f frame, it could have been a whole lot worse, and I felt fortunate to have had them on during that ride—just as I’ve been happy to have them on every time I jammed my leg into a rut or root or mistimed a jump landing.
As a rider who has had multiple knee surgeries, the peace of mind of braces is totally worth the extra effort of getting geared up before each ride, and I would have paid almost any amount of money up front to benefit from the protective attributes I discovered. EVS’s Web Pros have proven to be an excellent product and performed well beyond their call of duty.
