Q When you did a review of Griot's Garage Digital Tire Inflating Gun in last November's Service column, I thought it was a great find and put it on my Christmas list. I was thrilled when I received it—until I tried it on my Kawasaki ER-6n and its 17-inch wheels and found that it wouldn't connect because the filler hose isn't flexible enough to allow the straight air chuck to fit down onto the tires' Schrader valves.
After an Internet search, I found that Stop & Go International (www.stopngo.com) sells a 90-degree valve extension (part #88361 B12;$9.95) "for tire filling use only, not to be left on for riding." This extension solves the problem and makes Griot's handy
air gun motorcycle-friendly. Thanks for your articles and reviews. Ron Rosenberg Lake Villa, Illinois
A Actually, thank you for the informa tive feedback. I included that inflator in. Tool Time only after trying it on quite a few different motorcycles, and although getting the chuck squarely positioned on some bikes did require a little extra effort, I never came across one on which it refused to fit. Since then, however, I've been contacted by several readers who reported the same problem you encountered, but none of them offered such an easy, affordable solution. We all owe ya.
