MV AGUSTA'S RACE SPECIAL
If you want to play with the big boys-in this case the liter-bike might of the Japanese Big Fouryou need to pull out all the stops. Especially if you are a small Italian manufacturer like MV Agusta.
So comes the new F41000R 312 homologation special. Claimed top speed is 312 kph (194 mph), hence the name. Output is said to be 183 horsepower at 12,400 rpm, up 9 hp over the F4 1000R upon which the 312 is based. The increase is credited to improved cylinder-head flow as a result of titanium intake valves, hotter cams and larger-diameter 48mm throttle bodies. Suspension and brakes are carryovers from the 1000R. Price is expected to be in the $25,000 range, and production is limited to 150 units.
