APRILIA SUPERMOTO V-TWIN

Aprilia’s revolutionary 450cc V-Twin contested the penultimate round of the Supermoto World Championship at Belgium’s Spa Francorchamps circuit this past November. Eighteen-year-old roadracer Alex De Angelis, second in the 125cc World Championship, raced the bike, which combines steel-tube framework with large, stamped sideplates that sandwich the rear of the engine and locate the swingarm pivot. A sweeping dual-header exhaust exits through a single silencer located under the seat. Equipped with Brembo brakes and Marzocchi suspension, the bike is said to weigh only as much as a Single.

A street version is expected, followed by motocross and enduro models.
