FUTURE-THINK MXER
Dirtbike-startup Rev! is hard at work on its prototype RVX250. Going against the current trend of utilizing four-stroke power to meet increasingly difficult emissions standards, Rev! hopes to introduce direct-injection to current two-stroke technology as the basis for its design. Currently co-opping with Italy's TM for engines, Rev! has other tricks up its sleeve, too. For instance, the bikes will be built on a custom-only basis using special software that calculates handlebar bend, seat height and footpeg location based on rider ability and size. What's more, the twin-spar chromoly frame features a unique "super-subframe" that in corporates the gas tank, airbox, seat and sidepanels, and unbolts as a single unit with the removal of six fasteners. Heavy into the capital-raising stage, Rev! says the RVX will initially be offered in carbureted form, "when it's ready."
