KNOCK-’EMDEAD DYNA
Flarley’s Custom Vehicle Operation Program has crunched another outta-the-park home run. Based on the Dyna Wide Glide, the Twin Cam 88-engined FXDWG2 boasts more than $8000 in H-D catalog parts. DUCATI WORLD TOURS
If you fancy spending a week exploring Europe or the U.S. on a Ducati ST2 or ST4, sign up for one of Ducati’s new “World Tours.” The program is managed by Chicagobased Lotus Tours, which helped create the “fly-buy-ride” trips that include the purchase and pickup of a new Ducati at the factory in Bologna, Italy. HONDA LEADS THE WAY
By late 2001, nearly all of Honda’s gasoline-powered engines will reportedly meet the EPA’s upcoming Phase 2 emission standards. Not slated to officially go into effect until 2006, the changes are intended to reduce hydrocarbon and nitrogen-oxide levels by 30 percent from 1995 amounts. All machines with engines meeting Phase 2 will wear a hangtag bearing an “eSPEC” logo in dealerships, a new mark symbolizing Honda’s advanced environmental efforts.
FZ1 COMING
If you’re disappointed by Yamaha’s decision to not bring the FJR1300 sport-tourer stateside, cheer up: Last month’s cover bike, the YZFR1-engined Fazer 1000 (called FZ1 in the U.S.) is officially headed to our shores. Suggested retail price is $8499. Get your order in now.
LIP SERVICE
What’s red, negotiates curves, defines beauty and has a racy attitude? Ducatis, of course, and now, it seems, MAC Cosmetics. The two recently teamed up to launch Lady Danger, a new line of lipstick and cosmetics. “MAC and Ducati put a premium on performance, design and individuality,” said Ducati President Federico Minoli. “This partnership reflects these trademark characteristics and Ducati’s desire to welcome any woman who has ever been enticed by the speed, thrill and grit of this exciting sport to our family of Ducatisti." Is a “Taglioni’s Secret” line of lingerie too much to hope for?
