The Complete Motorcycle Book

Kevin Cameron

TIMES CHANGE. PEOPLE USED TO TAKE UP MOTORcycling as a natural extension of growing up riding and fixing bicycles, building hideouts and grinding the valves in the family lawnmower. A motorcycle was just another understandable gadget, and it was a lot of fun.

This background is less common today. That makes buying and operating a motorcycle a much bigger, scarier step for the first-time, no-experience buyer (even though motorcycles have now evolved into essentially turnkey devices like cars). Jim

Bennett’s The Complete Motorcycle

Book is for those about to take this big step. It assumes very little in the way of mechanical know-how, or even general knowledge of the physical world. If you want to be able to look up almost anything-What is the i# clutch? What kind of machine do I need? How can I ride safely?-and get an expert explanation, you can do it in this book.

If you did grow up with an Erector Set, a soldering iron and endless tools and projects, you will probably find parts of this book too helpful, too basic. But if you want to take up motorcycling and fear you lack the necessary mechanical instincts, this book will help you catch up, master the basics and join the fun anyway. I respect those with the courage to tackle motorcycling from a book. Whatever it takes to ride!
