RETURN OF A WARRIOR
ROUNDUP
IF SPARTACUS HADN'T died at the hands of the Roman army, and he'd lived, oh, another 2000 years, this is the sort of muscular motorcycle that might have appealed to his rugged individualism. The Spartaco from GG Motorrad Technik was inspired by the legendary warrior.
Loosely based on Moto Guzzi's VI1 EV cruiser, the Spartaco is powered by a hot-rodded version of the Italian company's venerable sideways V-Twin, and is bedecked with all manner of billet-aluminum parts (check out the six-piston brakes) milled in GG's in-house machine shop. The feet-forward riding position and low (26.7-inch) seat height shout cruiser, but the footpegs actually allow greater cornering clearance than the standard floorboards, and the Showa 41mm inverted fork,
WP monoshock and 17-inch wire-spoke wheels shod with Pirelli gumbos are all sportbike-spec. Accommodations are spartan (sorry), but then, rugged individuals aren't worried about such trivial concerns as comfort. That comes later, after the plundering.
The Spartaco's price? Expensive. Very. And more so when you factor in the cost of overseas shipment, because the Swiss company doesn't have a U.S. distributor. Interested parties should contact GG at 01141-41-448-33-63.
