SPORTBIKE-INSPIRED SCOOTER

While Suzuki's sportbikes currently hold sway for the company stateside, its more diminutive two-wheelers are capturinq the imagination of riders on the Continent. With sleek, racy styling and sporty performance, Katana scooters are available with either liquidor air-cooled 49cc engines: The liquid-cooled model is tuned for low-to-midrange torque, while the air-cooled one is designed for a higher top speed. Beneath their swoopy bodies, both Katanas come equipped with steel tube-style frames, Showa upsidedown forks and single-shock rear suspension. Combine all that with large, comfortable seats and spacious under seat storage, and Suzuki has a pair of scooters that should make their sportbike namesakes proud.
