SUPER SCOOTER
Looking for evidence that scooter engines are hightech, too? Check out Aprilia's new four-stroke Single. The liquid-cooled, four valve, 125cc powerplant was designed, the company says, to boost commuter performance without sacrificing day-to-day practicality. Inter nally, a counterweighted, plain-bearing crank drives a single camshaft-and, in turn, dual forked rocker arms-via an endless chain. Other highlights Include a Nikasil-coated barrel, a CV carburetor and a belt-drive transmission.
Reportedly, the engine will power a yet-unnamed model slated for a late-'95 release.
