YAMAHA INSURANCE

Insurance for motorcycles is expensive, and it can be hard to find. We all know that. Yamaha is now doing something about it.

Because of insurance regulations. Yamaha can't get into the insurance business, but Yamaha has reached an agreement with an existing insurance agency so customers have instant insurance if they want it. The plan connects Yamaha dealers with the K&K insurance agency via a toll free 800 number. When a customer wants to buy a motorcycle, the dealer calls the agency and gets all the information needed to write a policy then and there. The acceptance is guaranteed for 30 days. so the customer can ride the motorcycle from the dealer with full insurance.

In order to participate in the program. Yamaha dealers must discount the cost of crash repair parts 10 percent. In addition, Yamaha gives a 10 percent discount on the parts so the cost of repairing motorcycles covered under the plan is reduced 20 percent for the insurance agency, and ultimately, the rider.

Harlev-Davidson has successfully reduced theft losses with a program of matched engine and frame numbers and dealer checks on replacement frame pieces. Honda last year began a combined insurance program by reducing the cost of insurance replacement parts, better theft prevention devices and dealer cooperation in parts replacement.
