Pierce, Cooley And Emde Sign With Suzuki

PIERCE, COOLEY AND EMDE SIGN WITH SUZUKI

Ron Pierce, Wes Cooley and David Emde have signed contracts with U.S. Suzuki Motors Corp. to race Yoshimuraprepared Suzukis during the 1979 season. Cooley and Pierce will ride a 1079cc Yoshimura-engined, BMC-framed endurance bike built by Yoshimura R&D in the Bol d’Or and LeMans 24-hour races in Europe and the Suzuka 8-hour in Japan. Cooley and Pierce will also compete on Yoshimura Suzuki Superbike Production "récers in all AMA Nationals. Emde’s contract covers AMA Nationals only. According to sources inside Suzuki, the company is looking forward to filling the winner’s circle (first, second and third place) at several Superbike Production events.
