THE HARLEY SHUFFLE
Harley-Davidson has announced several new models which will be introduced mid-way through this model year. None of the models are new in the sense of having never-before-seen pieces. but the new models have different combinations of the traditional Harley pieces than we've seen before.
After a one year absence, the Harley sidecar is back, now mounted on the 80 cu.in. Classic, both painted a matching cream and tan. Harley offered the sidecar combo for years with several special fea-
tures: matching 16-in, wheels on all cor ners so the spare tire could replace a flat in any position: a steeper front fork rake for greater maneuverability and less steering effort: brakes on all three wheels. Harley didn't announce whether the latest sidecar rig has the traditional three-speed plus reverse transmission, but the reverse trans mission is still listed in the parts books on special order. Price for the Classic sidecar rig is a mere S7595. Two existing models, the Low Rider and FXEF Fathob. are being treated to the 80 in. engine. Both models have had the 74 cu.in. engine previously. Both are deriva lives of the original Super Glide which was a derivative of the Electra Glide which was an update of the Hydra Glide which was an update of the Duo Glide which suc ceeded the 74.
Last of the new models is the Hugger. Based on the Sportster. the Hugger has an ultra-low 29.5 in. seat height. lower rear shocks. lower rear fender styling, and tnt ditional wire spoke wheels. Sort of an almostLow R ider-Sportster.
