In the course of a year at CYCLE WORLD, we test a large number of motorcycles, many of which are designed for the street. Out of all those bikes we’re often surprised at how many have truly poor seats; many are so hard they have you looking for a massage parlor after 50 miles of cruising. . .and that’s not at all conducive to chalking up a bunch of distance in one day. Maybe your motorcycle has the same problem. . .and perhaps you’re wondering what to do about it.

We found one good solution, a JML Products Travel Ease Water Cushion. Often referred to as “the water bed,” the cushion is an innovative device that straps to your existing seat in a matter of minutes, providing a much more comfortable spot to place your derrière. But what really makes it unique is the fact that it’s adjustable to suit your preferences.

The outer portion of the cushion is vinyl with pockets that are designed to hold the water cushions. The foam filled cushions are tough with double locking valves; the foam acts as a damper to prevent the water from overreacting to movement. Naturally, the more water added, the firmer the cushion, so you fill it to whatever feels the best for you. Very complete instructions are provided and installation is a snap. The cushion can also be removed and used for a pillow or soft seat while camping. . .use your imagination!

At $24.95, we think it’s quite worthwhile and solves the hard seat problem. Small and large sizes are available, depending on the machine they’ll be used for. Most popular motorcycles are covered.
