HILL AND GULLY RIDER
HAROLD MORTON
THE COMPARATIVELY NEW lightweight motorbikes have found many useful applications for persons of all ages. Often utilized as low-cost transportation to and from work or school, they are also used for the enjoyment of riding mountain trails and getting back to out-of-way lakes and streams. Along with this last application is the riding of the smaller hills' and gullies, innumerable paths and passageways, which are difficult to transverse at times. With proper gearing of the motorbike and the use of knobby tires, however, even the most difficult obstacle can be overcome.
To help illustrate this I persuaded my 15-year-old daughter, Carol, to ride some of the local hills and gullies. For the amount of time she has been riding a motorbike she is very good, and able to handle the machine with ease, even in some of the rougher areas.
