Rolling Concours 2012

CW's classic ride and show returns to Indy MotoGP

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, START YOUR engines! Seriously, get your classic bike ready for the return of the Cycle World Rolling Concours at the Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Saturday, August 18.

We’re firm believers that motorcycles, even rare collector machines, were meant to be ridden. That’s why this concours rolls. The ride will leave from the Speedway and head to a private lunch spot for socializing and tire-kicking, then return to the track where the bikes will be judged. Only those motorcycles that complete the ride are eligible for trophies (and prizes from event-sponsor Bike Bandit). Judges will include Editorat-Large Peter Egan and yours truly.

Last year’s Rolling Concours featured some stunning machines, none more so than Sergei Traycoff’s incredible 1972 Kawasaki El 1C Mach III (below). But the show is open to any motorcycle that runs, dirty or clean, stock or not, as long as it is 1986 or older. Entry fee is just $25 if you already have tickets for the weekend's racing. Two other packages are available: $85 gets you in the concours, three-day ad mission to the track and a free lap around the MotoGP course scheduled for Friday night; for $115, you get all this plus reserved seating on race day. Visit www. cycleworld.com for more information. Come roll with us!
