Twisted Throttle Accessories

Is the road less traveled calling your name? Twisted Throttle’s ever-expanding line of adventure-madeeasier accessories now includes just about everything but the proverbial kitchen sink for the 2010-11 Ducati Multistrada 1200. For example, SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock Sidecarriers ($254.99) are compatible with several brands of sidecases—TraX (45-liter shown; $325),

Pelican, GIVI, Shad and others. Also from SW-MOTECH, powdercoated mild-steel Crashbars ($244.99) are designed to flex upon impact, providing better protection for costly bodywork. Seeing is believing with either Denali LED ($299.99) or PIAA driving lights; mounting is a snap with SW-MOTECH Auxiliary Light Mounts ($59.99).

Also available: SW-MOTECH Handlebar Risers ($49.99) and Header Guard ($114.99) and, well, the list goes on and on...

Gator Skins

The Vector-2 ($479.95-609.95; sizes XS-XXXL) benefits from the wider, latest-generation SAI faceshield and eyeport for enhanced peripheral vision. Eastwood Fuel Guard

If you haven’t noticed, modern gas sucks, especially ethanol blends. Nothing turns to tar, gum and varnish or drops octane and/or ignitability faster. Plus, ethanol-blended fuels readily absorb water (even from the air!), which can lead to phase separation, a phenomenon where water-saturated ethanol actually drops out of solution and forms a separate watery layer in your tank. Octane drops, rust ensues and the only “fix” for phase-separated fuel is a complete draining and cleaning of your motorcycle’s fuel system. Ethanol itself is also quite aggressive, potentially harming rubber, plastic and fiberglass components, particularly those of

older machines. To help combat these problems, Eastwood offers Fuel Guard in both Ethanol Protec tion Formula ($7.99; an 8-ounce bottle treats up to 30 gallons) and Ethanol Stabilizer Formula ($9.99; 8 ounces treats up to 20 gallons in stored vehicles for as long as 12 months). Your pilot jets or fuel injectors will thank you.
