Your December issue contained a letter from a fellow who was having a problem with the charging system on his Honda VFR75O ("Stalking on a VFR"). I have run into this problem on a few Hondas and have always found the cause to be the ptastic connector between the stator wires and the main wiring harness. These tend to degrade because of loose connections and are very tough to troubleshoot. The symptoms he describes are the same as on the last VFR that I repaired.
