Looking more like a space vehicle from a Japanese animation film than a form of city transportation, the Yamaha Morphus is a new eco-friendly, low-emissions scooter meant to bridge the gap between smaller urban scoots and the bigger "touring" rigs, such as the company's own 400cc Majesty and Suzuki's Bergman 650. Power comes from an electric-start, fuel-injected, dohc, 250cc four-stroke Single mated to a V-belt continuously van able transmission. Underseat storage is abundant, and cool features `~ such as an LCD digital dash, dual disc brakes and a centerstand, not to mention integrated LED turnsignals and taillight, try to live up to the futuristic, spacecraft-like styling. Available in Raven Black or Galaxy Blue, the $5199 Morphous does not include warp drive.
