Hyper ventilation

NOTHING BETTER THAN THE WIND IN your hair on the open road, but helmet laws have largely put an end to that. How about wind in the hair...on your chest?

The Hein Gericke Triton’s 11 separate zippered vents (with internal color accents in red or silver mesh) ensure ample airflow. That’s nearly 12 feet of unzip power (arms, for example, from neck to cuff!), not including the 22.5-inch front “entry” zip.

As you can imagine, it’s mighty breezy inside this water-resistant 330-denier nylon shell when you’re fully unfurled.

Contrarily, to feel the heat, install the insulated waterproof/breathable Sheltex liner, which zips and snaps into place. A velcro flap seals the liner front against the elements.

Stretch panels at the shoulders and waist (the latter adjustable) ensure a snug, comfortable fit, in sizes S-XXXXL.

The Triton appears to offer better abrasion resistance-not to mention weather flexibility-than mesh-only offerings, especially with the CE-approved (and removable) “Turtle Armor” at the shoulders and elbows.

Our only complaint was a hole in the breast pocket (a defect) that allowed small items to fall into the jacket interior, where they were visible through the mesh inner liner! Ride safely in the heat, be comfortable in the cold. Just watch where you put your change! □
