VOXAN ON TRACK
Here it is, the first racing Voxan! French magazine Moto Journal photographed this Alain Chevallier-designed prototype, which is scheduled to compete in April’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Endurance events are very popular in France, so contesting the FIM World Endurance Championship is a logical move. Plus, it costs less than Grand Prix or World Superbike. Because the new sportbike upon which the racer is based won’t make its public debut until October’s Paris Show, the one-off machine will run in the Prototype category, limiting its appearances to Le Mans, Bol d’Or and the 24 Hours of Liège in Belgium. Chevallier says the bike is powerful (160 horsepower), lightweight (357 pounds), and that the chassis and engine are based on current production models. Voxan will also enter a 135-bhp Cafe Racer in the Stocksport class at Le Mans.
