What's up with Yamaha's middleweight flyer, the YZFR6, for '02? Not much, actually. On the heels of this annum's motor/tranny hot-rodding and style-savvy tailpiece re-cap, the latter gaining nifty Lite-Brite-like LED stoplights, Yamaha will stand pat for the coming selling season. And so, the easy-steering R6 will hit dealerships with scarcely discernible paint and graphics updates as its only alterations. As for price, nothing's official yet. If anything, look for a modest increase over the current sub-$8K sticker. Sadly, the too-cool Champion's Edition is no longer on the menu. Maybe if factory rider Anthony Gobert wins the AMA 600cc Supersport title... -Matthew Miles
