HOLESHOT ELECTRIC POWERSHIFTER 2

If you’re interested in quicker shifts, you might consider a Electric Powershifter 2 from Dale Walker’s Holeshot Performance Products (320 Babe Thompson Rd., La Selva, CA 95076; 408/761-2808). Designed and developed by four-time national drag racing champion Dale Walker, the Electric Powershifter 2 allows full-throttle, clutchless upshifts. Installation is a snap, says Walker, and each kit includes an on/off toggle switch and an easily adjustable ignition cut-out. The Electric Powershifter 2, retailing for $189, is said to fit most street and offroad motorcycles and ATVs. A similar kit designed specifically for HarleyDavidsons costs $209.

VANSON X-RAY GLOVES

Vanson’s X-Ray riding glove was designed to complement the company’s Bones jacket and Skeleton racing leathers. Manufactured from topgrain American cowhide, the X-Ray glove is handmade and individually numbered, says Vanson. The skeletal design is also produced by hand and top-stitched using individual pieces of leather. Vanson X-Ray gloves retail for $110 and are available in S-XL. MUSTANG FLAMED SQUAREBACK SEAT

Does your 1958-84 Harley-Davidson FX/FL or 1982-94 FXR need a new saddle? If so, let Mustang put you in the hot seat. Dished for a low ride height. Mustang’s Flamed Squareback seat features hand-crafted flames, a formed steel baseplate with vibrationabsorbing rubber supports, a chrome mounting bracket and underside carpeting to protect paintwork. METZELER MEZ2 LASER RADIAL

In developing its new MEZ2 Laser radial front tire, Metzeler retained the arrow-shaped groove of its ME33, but redesigned the center and shoulder areas. A circumferential zigzag groove with a stepped cross section was also added to improve water expulsion, says Metzeler (410 Eagleview Blvd., Suite 106, Exton, PA 19341; 610/458-9662). The MEZ2’s tread compound is similar to that of Metzeler’s Comp K and was designed to provide low-temperature and wetweather grip without affecting mileage. VENTURA SPORT RACK

Looking for additional carrying capacity from your Ducati 907ie, Honda ST1100, Kawasaki ZR750, Suzuki Intruder or various other bikes? The Ventura Sport Rack ($35 from HSI, Inc., P.O. Box 336, Edmonds, WA 98020; 800/688-6439) has a 4-inch steel hoop that mounts to the back of your motorcycle via custom-made L-brackets ($77 per set), says HSI. A taller, 13-inch Pack Rack ($40) is also available and can be interchanged with the Sport Rack and used in conjunction with the company’s 30-1 iter and 44-liter Aero packs. Popular fitments include Honda’s VFR750F and CBR900RR, Suzuki’s RF600 and RF900, and Yamaha’s 535 Virago and Seca II.

ALISYN PRO21 SYNTHETIC CHAIN LUBRICANT

Alisyn Pro21 Synthetic Chain Lubricant was designed to defeat the leading causes of chain wear; dirt and corrosion. Pro21’s synthetic formula will not attract dust or dirt like petroleum or wax-based compounds, claims the manufacturer, and its antirust additive will not evaporate quickly, providing long-lasting lubricatior and protection. Safe for use with Oring chains, Pro21’s non-drip, no-run formula is also said to reduce flingoff.
