Almost as good as being there

Nick Harris is not only one of Britain’s leading motorcycle journalists, but also the BBC’s radio commentator for all two-wheel events aired on the network. Now his love of motorcycle racing has led him to come up with an news-based audio-tape program that captures the GP racing scene on a monthly basis.

Harris plans to produce six 45-minute audio cassette tapes throughout the GP season, each covering the major happenings in the roadrace GP scene during the previous four weeks. The tapes include excerpts from his live commentaries of the major races, as well as interviews with the star riders and some of the key behind-the-scenes-personnel on the major teams.

The tapes are well-puttogether and extremely interesting, using a magazine-like format to present the GP season from all standpoints. Har-

ris’s rich Oxfordshire brogue is easy to listen to, and his interviewing technique puts riders so much at ease that they often come up with some remarkable revelations that make for fascinating listening. Contact: Race Sounds, PO. Box 284, Oxford OX2 9PZ, England.
