Kiwi K20 helmet
Switzerland had the tools and Italy had the talent. Kiwi, a Swiss helmet manufacturer, employed Bertone, an Italian design studio, to pen the shape for Kiwi's new K-20. The result, a carbon-composite-shell helmet, meets DOT standards, and features vents in the top and sides, as well as for the faceshield. Available in sizes XS-XL, the K-20 comes in black, burgundy or silver for $129.95, and in black/gray, red/gray and pearl/gray for $149.95. Targa tank bibs
Taking a cue from culinary couture, Targa offers its tank bibs for motorcycles. In stead of guarding your tank from barbeque or bernaise sauces, though, Targa's foam-pad ded, flannel-backed, black-vinyl bibs are designed to protect it from jacket zippers, snaps and buckles. Available for most current sport bikes, the bib retails for $27.95 from your dealer, or from Targa Accessories Inc., 10 McLaren, Suite B, Irvine, CA 927 14; (714) 472-1022.
Cobra spark arrestor
How would you like to deal with a large, angry mammal in a ranger's hat? That could be the case if you go riding in Smokey the Bear's woods without a spark arrestor. Instead, play it safe and consider Cobra Engineering's aluminum-bodied Sparky. Available to fit all 1986-87 motocross bikes, the Sparky clamps onto the stock silencer, and Cobra claims it's U.S. Forestry-legal and that it causes no power-loss. Suggested retail price is $39.95, and you can find out more from Cobra Engineering, 4760 E. Bryson St., Ana heim, CA 92807; (714) 779-7798.
Kal-Gard 30/30
The 30-30 rifle cartridge has been a popular deer-hunting round for more than 50 years. Kal-Gard's 30/ 30 multi-purpose lubricant, on the other hand, probably won't put any meat on the table, but it will loosen grease, displace moisture and inhibit rust. Plus, it's harmless to most paint, plastics and rubber, some thing you can't say about a 30-30 round. Suggested retail price is $4.78 for a 17-ounce can, and it's available at your motorcycle dealer. For more information, contact Kal-Gard, 16616 Schoenborn St., Sepulveda, CA 91343.
SBS brake pads
Most riders think a hot Danish is something served with coffee. Not in this case, though. The Danish in question are disc brake pads from SBS of Denmark, and they come in different compounds for front and rear brakes. SBS pads are available for most motorcycles, with prices starting at $14 a pair. To find out more, contact Performance Machine Inc., P.O. Box 927, Paramount, CA 90723; (213) 634-6532.
