Detector brackets

Next to stealth technology, a radar detector is the best defense against bogeys during low-altitude sorties. And to make such an item easier to mount to your bike, V. Polak offers its Radar Detector Bracket. Double-sided tape holds the detector to the bracket, which secures to a wind-screen via three clear-plastic suction cups. V. Polak has two different styles of brackets, to fit sportbikes and touring rigs, for a suggested retail price of $17.95. For more information, contact V. Polak Inc., 221 1 N.W. Raleigh St., Portland, OR 97210; (503) 295-0733.

Mustang seat savers

If your saddle’s sores make your bike an eyesore, consider a Mustang naugahyde Seat Saver. The Savers require no tools for installation, instead relying on a bungee cord sewn into the bottom hem to secure the cover to the saddle. They come in black, red, white, blue or brown to fit a variety of saddles, and retail prices start at $49.95. To find out more, contact your motorcycle dealer, or Mustang, Town Hill Road, Terryville, CT 06786-0029; 1-800-243-1392.

Twin-Air filters

Now you can outfit your motocross weapon with factory air conditioning. No, not the cooling kind, but with Twin-Air air filters. According to White Bros., almost every factory motocross team uses the Dutch-made filters to clean and condition the air their engines breathe. Retail prices start at $12.60, and they’re available for all late-model Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and KTM motocross bikes. To find out more, contact White Bros., 1 1750 Seaboard Circle, Stanton, CA 90680; (714) 895-1991.

O’Neal motocross gear

Do you recognize me? Even though I’ve won three motocross world championships, not many people know who I am in street clothes. That’s why I always wear my O’Neal World Champion Signature jersey and Ultra-lite nylon motocross pants wherever I go. And you can, too.

The 100-percent cotton jersey is available in S-XL for a suggested retail price of $ 19.95, and the pants come in sizes 28-38 for $89.95; childrens’ sizes also are available. To find out more, contact O’Neal U.S.A., 9555 Owensmouth Ave., Chatsworth, CA 91311; (818) 998-1049. Tell them Andre sent you.

Uncle Mike’s Sidekick scabbard

Tired of houring-out at every enduro? Well, next time, intimidate the check crews into giving you a better score by showing them your Mannlicher in a Sidekick Scabbard from Uncle Mike’s. Constructed of Cordura, with closed-cell foam padding and nylon lining, the Sidekick mounts to a fork leg via nylon straps, and has a suggested retail price of $49.95. To find out more, contact Michaels of Oregon, P.O. Box 13010, Portland, OR 97213.

Rennsport Lectron carb kits

If your Moto Guzzi seems out of shape and short-winded, don’t sign it up for an aerobics class. Instead, phone Rennsport and order one of the firm’s Lectron carb kits. Included are two carbs, K&N air filters, a Magura quick-turn throttle and a Teflon-lined two-into-one cable. Rennsport claims the kit provides improved fuel economy and better throttle response than stock, all for a suggested retail price of $298.40. For more information, contact Rennsport, 227 Cottage Grove, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 ; (805) 962-5543.
