CYCLE WORLD NEW IDEAS
Sinisalo boots
Sinisalo MX boots feature interior plastic plates at the toe and heel. They are heavily padded around the ankles and inside the calf. A steel shank strengthens the sole from toe to heel. Speed laces help close the front flap, two Velcro and two steel buckles help speed on and off time. They cost
$157.95 and come in yellow, black, red, blue or, (are you ready for this?) white! Adult sizes 6-13 and kids 1-5 ($105.95) are offered. See your dealer or contact Sinisalo USA, 15510 Rockfield Blvd., Unit C, Irvine, Calif. 92714. Phone (714) 768-0661.

Superbike jumper cables
These jumper cables are 12 ft. long, made of 12 gauge insulated cable and fitted with color coded clips. The manufacturer claims they will jump start any car or motorcycle and can be easily stored on a motorcycle. They cost $12.95 at dealers or contact Cycle-Lite Corp.,

Total protection knee and shin guards
These shin/knee guards wrap around the side of the rider’s calves and ankles, cover the shins and knees, and the area between. The outer shell is impact-resistant plastic, the inside is padded by a layer of foam. They are adjustable for length and come in two sizes, adult and youth. They are designed to be worn under leathers or Levis. When used with leathers, the standard protectors are
discarded. Once these beauties are on and your boot buckled, it almost feels as if your leg is in a cast, but movement isn’t restricted. If you’re after the best in protection, even without normal leathers, try these. They work. They go for $32.50 at dealers or from Malcolm Smith, 7563 Indiana Ave., Riverside, Calif. 92503. Phone (714) 687-1300.
