LET'S GET IT ON

Honda would sell a bunch of the CX500 turbos if they looked like the one in the January 1981 issue. But they are at it again with their little-bit-at-a-time technology. What would really sell is a GPz1100 with fuel injection and a turbo like BMW cars. Then just to be on top, have a Nitrous Oxide backup. That would make up for some good low end power. Let's put an end to this trick technology demand something that's really worth the prices they are asking nowadays.

THE DARK AGES

Here in northern New England we ;~em to be living in the dark ages when it :omes to motorcycle insurance. Very few companies are willing to handle motorcy le insurance at all unless it is within con unction with your automobile insurance. Some of the interesting quirks are: If a person owns more than one bike, each one to be insured separately at full cost for ãch. How can a person ride more than ne bike at a time? We are unable to buy Ire/theft insurance unless we take what is called comprehensive insurance at a much iigher cost and of course prices get higher ?very year with inflation. Keep in mind that our riding season is limited to six or ight months a year depending on the eather.

Just possibly this could be the subject of a research article in the future. - -

SICK SUZUKI

After 4000 miles on the Suzuki S1OO0G some additional comments nay be worthwhile to potential buyers. oad tests reveal excellent all around per rmance, but a couple of all day-in-theaddle trips can bring out some real flaws. The much praised seat is a real crotch runcher on long trips. The slight incline ntinually shoves one forward. The throt le would require a gorilla to hold open all lay and most throttle controls don't fit )roperly on the GS 1000. If they do fit they ermit throttle creep. A handlebar fairing auses high speed wobble. And don't de send on the mickey mouse front fork lock. rgetting it was in lock position, I almost ore off the stop lug. My dealer claims it `as a theft attempt. •Such an attempt ould easily rip it completely off with two r three handlebar slams. Most of these deficiencies could be easily corrected by Suzuki.
