In the BMW R65 test in the December issue, we exceeded our poetic license. Quoting the test, we said Beemers "cost, in some cases. twice as much as Japanese machines of comparable size."

BMW has called us on that. and correctly. Although that may have been true awhile back, BMW has worked at holding the price line and the yen-4hNar exchange rates have forced the Japanese to increase their prices. As a result. although the R65 does cost more than other 650s, the differential is not times two. Our-mis take, and our apologies.
