STEDI-PAD

It's 110 degrees outside and you're sitting at the local pub tilting a brew. All of a sudden this guy comes up and asks if that's your motorcycle in the parking lot. "Yup," you say, "what about it?" He then informs you that it's laying on its side and maybe you'd like to go pick it up. Aargh! The worst possible thoughts pass through your mind. "Did it dent my CYCLE WORLD stickie? Have my Cal Rayborn Replica handgrips been torn? You run outside nd sure enough, there lies your pride d joy, its sidestand stuck 4 in. into e soft asphalt. But one never again has to worry about such catastrophic occurrences, because there is now a solution. Get yourself a Stedi-Pad, better yet, a Stedi-Pad with a carrying case, and slip it under your kickstand whenever you park. It’s made from tough, flexo plastic and contains a lanyard to haul it up once you’re aboard. Too, you can play fetch with the dog and not have to worry about retrieving the pad if Fido isn’t up to the game. The pad sells for $5.95 and the case is an extra $3.95, from Whaley’s, P.O. Box 542, Dept. CW-3, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. That’s maybe a little high for all but the gadget freaks, but a good present for the man who has everything.

HIPPO HANDS

OK. So they look like Giraffe booties, but we’re tellin’ ya’, they’re HIPPO HANDS. And if you just happen to p one of those overweight creatures in your pool or backyard, don’t let him see these or you’ll never get ’em back. The real trick is that they just happen to fit on the handlebars of almost any motorcycle, and they can turn cold weather riding into pure pleasure, that is if you remembered to leave your pajamas at home and wear your jacket instead. The outer shell is heavy, black Naugahyde, lined with cozy fleece (we had a dog that had fleece once) and the quality and workmanship is truly outstanding. They go on or off the machine in seconds, allow access and safe operation of all controls, and even have a built-in pouch for toll booth or parking meter change. For cold weather riding they can’t be topped. We know, because we use them at CYCLE WORLD. They retail for $29.95 and yeah, snowmobile Äkvers can use them, too. If you can’t ^md them at your dealer, write Vetter Fairing Co., P.O. Box 927, Dept. CW-3, Rantoul, IL 61866. gj
