TEFLON PISTON COAT
Hi-Speed Produets has perfected a process of coating the skirts of racing pistons with a basic Dupont Teflon product. Tuflon-VII, and seven additional stratified toughening materials.
According to the manufacturer, the advantages are many: no known racing fuel will attack or affect this coating; normal piston clearance requirements can virtually be cut in half due to Teflon’s inborn lubricating qualities and its nature to attract and hold oil; expansion is reduced because less friction reduces piston temperatures up to 20 percent; a 25 percent compression increase can he expected from any make engine; and the wearing qualities are approximately equal to a stock aluminum piston.
The Tuflon-VIl coating process is controlled by oven sintered fusing, requiring 1 2 distinct operations. Over three years of intensive analysis were required to engineer and develop this process. They will coat your old piston, your new piston, or sell you new ones from stock.

CYCLE SHIRT
The latest in T-shirts for motorcyclists are these high-quality, 100 percent cotton Super Cycle Shirts from Designs Alive.
Brand names are silk-screened on the shirt backs in a three-color application which has a color blending effect. Long wearing plastisol inks are used.

MAICO TANK, FLEXIBLE FENDERS
A 3-gal. fiberglass gas tank and flexible fiberglass front and rear fenders are being produced for Maico motorcycles by the Fiberglas Works of Santa Cruz.
Both tank and fenders are hand laminated with permanently flexible Isothalic resin to resist vibration cracks. Maico tanks are available with either a twist-off or an optional quick-fill cap.
Weight of the tank is 3 lb. Fenders weigh 1 lb. each. All colors (red, yellow, blue, orange) are impregnated and will not chip or fade.
All products manufactured by the Fiberglas Works carry a lifetime guarantee. Price of the tank is $44.95. Front fenders cost $12.95 and rear fenders sell for $ 1 4.95.

PATRACO THROTTLE/BRAKE KIT
Patraco Hi-Performance Equipment has recently introduced a throttle/ compression release combination for serious motocross, short track, desert, and trail riders.
The throttle/compression release is a fast quarter-turn throttle when used in the normal manner. However, turning the throttle a fraction of an inch past the closed position opens the one-way compression release valve which provides instant braking. Unlike other compression release units, the rider does not have to lift his fingers from the handlebar grips.
Precision machined to aerospace standards from aluminum alloys and steel, the throttle/brake is guaranteed unbreakable. Broken parts may be returned to Patraco for free exchange or repair.
Included in the kit is the all new Patraco one-way compression brake valve with a quick detach cable. This unit is machined and ground from a special heat treated valve steel.
The main valve has a groove machined on the valve head to facilitate periodic lapping of the main valve seat. The secondary one-way valve is designed to be self-seating and self-cleaning. Carbon, oil and dirt which quickly foul some devices is, according to the manufacturer, automatically cleaned away.
The quick detach cable can be attached or removed with the compression release valve still in the cylinder head. The valve fits a standard 14-mm, 3/4-in. spark plug hole. (A spacer is provided for use in conjunction with 1/2 in.-reach spark plug holes.)
The complete kit with throttle/ brake, one-way compression release valve and quick detach cable retails for
$44.95 at local dealers. The throttle/ brake is available separately, for use with your present release valve, for $29.95.
The one-way compression release with quick detach cable is also available alone for those who prefer to use a separate lever to operate the valve. Price is S 16.95.

NUMBER PLATE TOOL BOX
Webco, Inc. is now distributing a new Preston Petty combination number plate and tool box to dealers.
The tool box. made from injection molded co-polymer, is lined with sponge rubber to isolate tools from vibration. Three clip type locks secure the toolbox cover, which doubles as a regulation size number plate for AMA sporting events.
Although any convenient method can be used to attach the combination tool box number plate to front forks, Webco recommends the use of their 1419-A number plate mounting brackets.

JOFA MOUTH GUARD
Jofa mouth guards, used by the Europeans in the recent Inter-Am and Trans-AMA races, are being offered by Webco, Inc.
Designed to fit over the mouth and chin, this product prevents facial injury from flying stones and dirt clods kicked up by other machines.
Jofa mouth guards are easily attached to all full cover helmets. All necessary mounting hardware is supplied.
